The Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, Inc. culture is unique and is driven by core values called The Takeda Promise. Created by employees in 2000, two years after the company was founded, The Takeda Promise guides our decisions and direction. It speaks to the company’s dedication to the individual, the patients we serve, and the community. Integrity is at the core of The Takeda Promise.

TPNA is a results-oriented organization. The company was built from the ground up in 1998. The task was clear – to build a fully functional pharmaceutical company capable of launching a major new product. Within 14 months the organization was built – from building a sales force to installing IT systems, from building a supply chain to creating HR and Finance departments – and within four years ACTOS® (pioglitazone HCl) was the number one prescribed product in its class. TPNA began in 1998 with three employees and has more than 2,100 today.

The entrepreneurial, innovative spirit that made this success story possible is still alive and well at TPNA today. The results-oriented approach combined with the long history and support of TPNA's parent company, Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited – the largest pharmaceutical company in Japan – makes TPNA a new kind of pharmaceutical company.
