Commitment to Community

Finding new ways to be a good corporate citizen and positively impact the communities we serve is a natural extension of Takeda's pioneering spirit. We undertake a wide range of philanthropic programs that benefit our communities, including employee-driven philanthropy and non-profit organization partnerships.

About Takeda’s Employee-Driven Philanthropy

Our employees are the most important component behind our commitment to the community. Takeda employees at all levels contribute countless volunteer hours each year; serving on boards, acting as mentors, and rolling up their sleeves to take part in community activities. We acknowledge their exceptional efforts to give back.

Takeda Matching Gifts

Takeda employee donations reach a wide variety of social causes and community organizations. To encourage and support their involvement, Takeda's Matching Gift Program matches employee contributions dollar-for-dollar to eligible nonprofit organizations. More than 400 organizations benefit from the generosity of Takeda employees. Money is donated to cultural, social service, and educational organizations across the United States.

Community Outreach Day

Takeda is proud to support employee philanthropy by participating in an annual Takeda Community Outreach Day. Since 2003, Takeda has partnered with Rebuilding Together, a non-profit volunteer home and community center rehabilitation organization. Each year, the company identifies a local school in need of painting, landscaping, and refurbishing and invites employees to leave the office for the day to give back to their community.

Annual Employee Programs

Takeda employees participate in a number of annual programs throughout the year to give back to their communities. During the holiday season each year, employees are encouraged to participate in a toy drive and food drive. For several years, employees have also been given the opportunity to purchase bears for children in local hospitals through the Starlight Starbright Foundation's Holiday Bear Program.

Nonprofit Partnerships

Takeda focuses in many areas of the community, but specifically on organizations that:

  • • offer health and human services assistance with an emphasis on Takeda’s key therapeutic areas;
  • • support life sciences and health education programs serving school- or college-aged students;
  • • help inspire and support future scientists.
